Some people have a condition that makes them “lactose intolerant,” which means that they get sick when they drink milk.  The good news for those people is that when milk is changed into yogurt the part that makes lactose intolerant people sick is changed into something else.  They can enjoy frozen yogurt just like everyone else, and they can eat a lot of it and never get sick from being lactose intolerant.

Frozen yogurt is a really delicious dessert that is much better for you than ice cream.  It is so good for you in so many different ways that it might just be the healthiest dessert anyone can ever eat.  And thousands and thousands of people all over the world love the way it tastes and love to it whenever they can, as a snack or a dessert, in cup or in a frozen yogurt cone.

easter egg

Over the next week we have some exciting things to share with everyone; some MAJOR & some minor, but will do it gradually so as to create some suspense…
Let’s start with a special for this Sunday only: FREE 8 oz. cups of our new Cherry Limeade OR Pomegranate Energy flavors! You read it right – for today only these flavors are FREE!

Now let’s move quickly to the brand new Malted Easter Egg… Candy and Apple Pie Tart flavors that just hit the machines! These aren’t free, but so darn good you’ll WANT TO PAY US! In the remote case that you just don’t like these flavors, the rest of the lineup includes favorites like the NSA Chocolate, Vanilla Bean, Tropical & Lemonade sorbets, California tart and Triple Chocolate.

A couple of these flavors will change in the next day or so, but here’s a loosely guarded SECRET – we frequently put ‘ready to go’ containers of our delicious frozen yogurt in the freezer! The price is still the same, but often times when you’re hankering for a flavor that’s been rotated out, it might be sitting in the freezer, just waiting for you to ask for it! Or when heading home after a long day at work, stop by and grab up some frozen cups. By the time dinner is over, your dessert will be ready to eat! The stockpile is always limited, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Right now we’ve got some Lemon Icebox, Caramel Custard, Island Coconut and tarts.

Also, don’t forget that on April 7th we will be drawing ONE lucky person’s name for a Nintendo Wii! If interested, merely purchase $10 of yogurt for an entry form and maybe YOU’LL WIN! Maybe not, but you’ll never know unless you try!

I could keep going on & on, but instead tune in over the next couple of days and I’ll reveal how we plan to pick up SEVERAL THOUSAND more fans of Beary Cool Yogurt! Until then, take care and enjoy this beautiful Alaskan weather!

There are so many good things about frozen yogurt that it’s no surprise more and more people like it more than ice cream.  It tastes really, really good and is also a very healthy food.  People who care about their health like frozen yogurt because it doesn’t have nearly as much fat or as many calories as ice cream.  One reason is that it’s made out of fresh pure milk instead of heavy cream.

The popularity of frozen yogurt is growing quickly.  Lots and lots of people really love it, and more people every day eat it for the first time and absolutely love it.  A lot of very excited frozen yogurt fans are very young children, a lot of people who can’t get enough of it are old people, and it seems like everyone in between loves it too.  Did you know there are bacteria living inside you that are good for you?  Not all bacteria make you sick.  In fact, there are bacteria that have to live inside you, or you wouldn’t be able to digest your food.  And those are the kinds of bacteria in frozen yogurt.  In fact, milk couldn’t turn into yogurt without the good bacteria.  Those bacteria, which are also called “active cultures,” improve the digestion of people who eat frozen yogurt.

Frozen yogurt is so good for you that it’s almost like medicine.  Medicine that tastes really good and comes in a lot of different delicious flavors.  Yogurt helps your digestion a lot.  And sometimes, when you take medicine that kills the good bacteria in you along with the bad, frozen yogurt can make you feel much, much better.  Frozen yogurt is good for immune system, which help defend your body against germs that can make it sick.  And the calcium in frozen yogurt is very good for the bones, especially the bones of grown-up women.  And even though its dessert, frozen yogurt can help you lose weight.  It’s hard to believe that something which tastes so great, tangy and sweet, can also be this good for you, but it is.

The yogurt used for frozen yogurt is always made from fresh, pasteurized milk.  When the good bacteria are added to the milk it starts to ferment, which just means that it’s changed from plain milk into tangy creamy yogurt.  After its yogurt, flavors are added and then it’s frozen.  The good bacteria in the yogurt are still alive after the yogurt is frozen.  They can stay alive and healthy for a long time.  When you eat some delicious frozen yogurt it gets warmed up inside your body.  When that happens, the good bacteria stop hibernating and wake up and start creating the many yogurt health benefits just as well as if they’d never been frozen at all.

All of us at Beary Cool Yogurt want you to stop by and eat some frozen yogurt.  Come by often and try all our flavors.  And remember, your body will be enjoying getting healthy is so many different ways while you’re enjoying a very tasty treat.

BCY Hockey Players

Nowhere in the country is free of hockey players, they even play it in Florida! But here we are talking about Alaska Hockey, hockey in the biggest state in the union. Not hockey like in the movie Mystery, Alaska, but real hockey played by guys and gals who can actually skate! The Bantam B – Hockey State Championships- are coming to Wasilla March 9-11, so plan on being there!

Hockey is a great sport and like any other sport you need good nutrition. Guys and gals, we all love the fries and burgers at the rink. Hmmmm, good, but high in calories, high in fat and protein as well as hard to digest carbs from the spuds. Hardly the breakfast of champions.

If you need a between game snack, think low fat, no protein and no high sugar and easy to digest carbs, like in milk and milk products. Now we’re talking easy to tap (as far as your body is concerned) energy and easy to digest carbs. A candy bar is okay, so is ice cream or a shake. But really the way to go is low fat frozen yogurt! Add some fruit toppings like bananas, blueberries and strawberries and you have two of the top five snack foods in your hand.

Yogurt has been around since 6000 BC and if Genghis Kahn and the Mongol Hordes ate it while conquering the Roman Empire, why don’t you! At about 140 calories per serving, frozen yogurt has around 70% carbs, most of which are easy to digest sugars. Yogurt is considered one of the top five snack foods by most nutritionists. While nuts, vegetables, fruit and cereal all make a play as well, nothing tops yogurt for easy to access (for your body’s metabolism that is) carbohydrate calories. Check any National Hockey League website and you’ll see.

One of frozen yogurts little know side benefits is that it eases digestion and if you have a queasy stomach before the game, try some frozen yogurt to settle it down. It is much better than adding some hard to digest greasy fries, onion rings, pizza or a burger to an already tumultuous tummy.

While you’re in Wasilla, Alaska at the Bantam B State Hockey Championships, stop by Beary Cool Yogurt before, after, or in between the games. You’ll get a low calorie, high energy snack that won’t slow you down, make you sluggish and may even give you the added boost you need for the final game of the day. So hockey players, enjoy Wasilla and Beary Cool Yogurt.  Come in and tell us what team you are on and receive 10% discount off your frozen yogurt creation.  Open at noon every day and until 11 pm on Friday and Saturday and until 8 pm on Sunday.  Score lots of goals!

Welcome Iditarod Fans

Beary Cool Yogurt Is A Must-Stop For The Iditarod Sled Dog Race

Every year, there’s the Iditarod Sled Dog Race where dogs cover 1149 miles of beautiful terrain to Nome and all of the dogs are restarting their race from Willow. If this is on your calendar of things to do on March 3rd, it’s critical that you have a great seat – and a great snack.

While the race starts in Anchorage on Friday, there’s a restart in Willow on Saturday, where the mushers are set to leave the highways, and you will be driving through Wasilla to get there. Before the mushers leave or even after they are gone, Beary Cool Yogurt is a great place to stop and get a snack of frozen yogurt – a healthy treat with 10 different flavors and over 50 toppings. This has become a popular spot amongst locals and it’s sure to be a chilling experience for everyone who’s in town for the Last Great Race on Earth.

Beary Cool Yogurt is centrally located in Wasilla, where cups and waffle bowls of frozen yogurt are served up with a smile. What makes this place extra special is the number of toppings where there are limitless ways for you to individualize any cup or waffle bowl. It’s not every day that you can watch dogs race across the terrain of Alaska and it’s not every day that you can enjoy such a fulfilling personalized creation of frozen yogurt, either.

Alaska consumes more ice cream per capita than any other state, but when it comes to frozen yogurt, many are still experimenting with the flavors. At Beary Cool Yogurt, we’ll give anyone an introduction into the fine art of eating this frozen dessert – especially to those who doubt if frozen yogurt can really be as good (and even better) than ice cream. It’s packed full of flavor and it’s healthier. We even have No Sugar Added, and Lactose free frozen yogurt.  It’s the best way to enjoy the race when in town.

The trek to Willow and watching the dogs leave is going to be a long one so it could be awhile before anyone gets the opportunity to fill their stomach with something delicious for a while. There’s no sense waiting around for anything better to come up because it just doesn’t get any better than Beary Cool Yogurt. Frozen yogurt is fun for all ages, just like the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Children, teens and adults alike, will love the ice cold flavors sliding down their throat as they wait for each dog to head around the corner and onto their next destination.

Located in Carr’s mall in Wasilla, it’s the must-see place when in town for the dog races. The staff will take good care of anyone who comes in and there are comfortable seats for everyone to get out of the chilly weather for a while to indulge on some amazing yogurt flavors and decadent toppings.   So stop by afterwards, come in, warm up and tell us about the restart.  If you come in and say “I Love Dogs”, we will give you 5% off of your frozen yogurt creation.   Good luck and safe travels Mushers!
